Touch Commander Beta – Make your windows touch screen finger friendly

Windows Touch Mobile’s home screen is not very friendly to finger touch and this is because of the surface area provided for the control. The surface area is so minute that you must use a stylus to get through. However, some times you really wish it was really comfortable just like an iphone to reach your favorite applications by just the touch of your finger.

Touch Commander is an innovative solution just for that. Touch commander is not an iphone simulator or an iphone skin. However, it does let you browse your mobile just by the sweep of your finger across the screen. It allows you to make quick calls to photo contacts, start apps, browse folders, get and send SMS, view photos and video with a touch.

Its functionalities can summarized under the following six categories –

Touch Control: You can open/minimize/maximize applications by just the touch of your finger and also scroll by dragging your finger on the screen. You have configuration options also available to filter the applications that you wish to control.

Today Plugin: It allows you to setup your home screen. You can access your most frequently used programs. It provides you with current time, date, mobile network name, missed calls, unread emails and text messages. This page also has easy-to-use buttons to set the alarm clock and lock the display.

Touch Task Manager: It provides you with access to the current running application. You can start this feature with just a finger tap from the home screen. You can also start this task manager while working on another application, all you have to do is just touch and hold the close button of the current application on which you are working.

Touch Menu: It replaces the default menu option and presents them in an enlarged form so that you can easily activate them using your finger touch. It is available for limited applications though. It will support more application in the future versions.

It also comes with the following three skins –

Touch Start Menu: It replaces the default start menu and enlarges the text and images and makes it easier for finger touch.

Battery Indicator: It appears as the thin strip at the very top of the home screen.

This application supports Windows Mobile 5&6 and all HTC Touch models.
