Power SMS – A Complete Messaging Suite for Windows Mobile
Normally, the default messaging application on our Windows Mobile allows us just to send and receive messages that really limit the capability and potential of a powerful operating system such as Windows Mobile.
Well! Power SMS is an interesting piece of software that I have seen over a long time. This adds more options and capabilities when compared to the default messaging application. With Power SMS you really can unleash the capabilities of your Windows Mobile.
Power SMS is a messaging application that allows you to schedule, restore, backup, filter, reject call by sms and analyze your SMSs at no extra overhead in terms of RAM usage or device’s processing speed.
Power SMS can be installed on the phone memory preferably as it consumes only 150 KB of space. This application is intelligently designed so that it does run even when idle in the background. It is invoked by the OS and later terminated as soon as its chores are complete.
Let’s analyze its features in more detail.
User Interface: A good design and is finger touch friendly. Even accessible with a stylus.
Group SMS: Allows the user to create groups with unlimited number of contacts and send message at a single tap.
Auto Reply: The application auto replies to the missed calls. There is a few seconds of delay so that the user can cancel the sending of the message. Another important fact is to note that it sends the message only to the known contacts in your contact list by default. However, it has the option to customize it.
Interesting Analysis: This application provides an interesting analysis of the messages sent or received. The provides stats like, the person whom you sent the most messages, most active hour of the day, your most active day of the week, etc over a period of days.
Scheduling: You can schedule your messages in advance so that you don’t have to listen complaints again from your loved ones that you forgot their important day.
Backup & Restore: This is a very sought-after feature if you wish to archive all the messages you receive from your loved ones. You can export the SMSs in .CSV or .XML format and restore back whenever you want.
Multiple Languages: This application supports English, French, Italian and Swedish languages.
This application is available for a trial download for a period of 14 days after which you will have to buy. I think this application is worth a buy because of the average usage that you are going to make. Supports Windows Mobile 5,6 & 6.1.
